A catch-all mailbox is one that gathers all the messages sent to non-existent email addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone misspells it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Just one single mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and thus you’ll never miss messages because the other party has an obsolete email address or has made a spelling error. The downside of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving plenty of junk emails, but this problem can be fixed by using anti-spam filtering software. It’s also crucial to bear in mind that a mailbox with an active catch-all feature cannot redirect inbound messages to a third-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting

If you’ve got a web hosting service with us and you’d like to enable the catch-all option for a particular email mailbox that you have in the hosting account, it’ll take literally only a mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to do this. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each email address that you have created under any domain name hosted in the account. You can pick one address per domain name by clicking on the respective button. This will enable the feature momentarily, so all messages sent to misspelled email addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking on the button again will deactivate the catch-all feature. In case you have activated email forwarding, our system will show a warning notice and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature till you disable the forwarding or you can simply choose a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

A catch-all email address can be set up with a few mouse clicks in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated service with us. The semi-dedicated hosting account will be administered via our in-house built Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you’ll be able to create mailboxes under any domain registered here. To enable the catch-all option for a certain mailbox, you’ll need to click the logo with the exact same name, which will be on the right side of each mailbox. Disabling this functionality can be achieved in the very same manner and will not take more than a click either. In case a catch-all mailbox has already been activated for a given domain name, you’ll get a warning message. The same goes if the mailbox that you wish to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never disable or edit anything automatically.
